Highly anticipated by their growing fanbase, the new track tells the story of ending a relationship to choose yourself and follow your dreams. The song challenges the narrative that choosing yourself is only beneficial to one side. 

Listeners can expect to hear a warm and nostalgic sound from this new song. The band had a clear image in mind when describing their intended feeling. Guitarist Harrison Mitchell describes Paper Kiss as, “The start of a good ending scene. The cloudy feeling of kickons hits you in the face, and you know you’re about to have a good time.” 

The release of Paper Kiss follows a dramatic boost in the fanbase of The Kickons. According to lead singer Matthias Gault, “Paper Kiss has been a much loved favourite on stage and the decision to release it next was undoubtedly the right choice for our band and our mates in the crowd.”
